Research on access to justice and girls' rights

I have conducted research on gender and girls’ rights, including participating in the 2017 Global Online Conference on Sexual Violence against Children, with a focus on equity and evidence. I focused on the recognition of children as persons in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and their right to access justice when their rights are violated. My goal was to highlight that access to justice for victims of sexual violence is crucial, while highlighting the specific barriers that girls may face and how to address them. This has included bringing complaints before international litigation bodies, such as the European Court and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
